JUNIOR INFORMATION

ACT – The ACT is used by colleges for both admission determination and curriculum placement. Statistical studies have shown that the best time for students to initially take the ACT exam is during the spring semester of their junior year. Registration packets are available in the Guidance Office or the student can register online at www. act.org.

LEAP 21 – Juniors will complete the science and social studies portions of the GEE. Students must pass one of these two sections as part of the state mandated requirements for graduation.

TOPS – All students should consider the core course requirements to qualify for TOPS when selecting course requests for the following school year. Counselors are available to assist you, however, the final responsibility of course selection is the student/parent’s responsibility. Also, it is important to remember that the TOPS Core Unit GPA will be calculated only from the required core courses to determine TOPS eligibility.
